The  Boston  School  Online Self-Study Page
The Boston School    Bahnhaldenstrasse 32     8052 Zürich 044 310 30 38
This page, started in January 2011, is offered currently as a free online self-study programme for those students who have passed a B1 level examination and can be considered an Upper-Intermediate level student (B2) or above.

Authentic material has been chosen from various American websites that include e-books, radio stations that will help students not only with their reading and listening skills but also provide a genuine cultural to add a bit of "soul" to their English language learning.  As language is not only a subject to learn in school but a way to understand and communicate and share ideas, feelings and humor, we have created this page to inspire and motivate. We hope you enjoy using it and welcome any comments or suggestions you may have.

For each book or radio program exercise, The Boston School will also provide a simple way to check your reading and listening comprehension online through exercises and answer keys.

For vocabulary building, it is recommended that you keep a record of new words as well as create sentences in English for these words.  This way these new words can be integrated actively into your own personal word choice when speaking and writing much more swiftly.

For those students who wish to combine this online course with individual learning sessions via e-mail, skype or telephone, this can be arrange for a reasonable rate on request.

In the coming months, you will also be able to find online grammar explanations and exercises that can supplement your English studies.
